First Amendment
The first amendment of the US Constitution had five things that were addressed. These things were the freedom of religion, press, speech, petition, and assembly.
Second Amendment
The second amendment of the US Constitution was the right to keep, and bear arms. This amendment meant that people were allowed to keep and have guns.
Third Amendment
The third amendment of the US Constitution stated that military troops could not barge into private gomes and stay there. The troops cannot come into our homes without permission and use our homes as hotels. (except they dont't pay)
Fourth Amendment
The fourth amendment of the US Constitution states that there can be no unlawful searches or seizures. Citizens should be safe in their own homes without having to worry about searches. People can only search with a warrant that would be issued if there is a legitimate issue.
Fifth Amendment
The fifth amendment of the US Constitution states that there will be no self-incrimination. People may say "I plead the fifth" when they want to exercise their right to reman silent. The fifth amendment also discusses that there will not be double jeopardy. Once someone has been charged for an offense, they cannot be tried again for that same offense.
Sixth Amendment
The sixth amendment of the US Constitution states that all people should have the right to a speedy and fair trial. People cannot be held in jail waiting for a court date for two years. They should have the next available date and should have the right to an attorney as well.
Seventh Amendment
The seventh amendment of the US Constitution says that civil cases (a non-criminal dispute between two private parties) is heard by the federal courts, they are guaranteed a trial by jury if the dispute is greater than twenty dollars.
Eighth Amendment
The eighth amendment of the US Constitution states that there shall be no cruel or unusual punishments. This amendment also states that there shouldn't be an unfair bail or fine to any citizen.
Ninth Amendment
The ninth amendment of the US Constitution states that there are other rights that are not included in this constitution. The ninth amendment also states that just because a law or right is not in this constitution, it doesn't mean that those rules or laws do not exist.
Tenth Amendment
The tenth amendment of the US Constitution states that the powers of the federal government are limited. The power is all reserved for the states.
